Taking on the World, One Place at a Time

Independent travel is about experiencing the goodness, grace and dignity of people around the world. During our travels, we quickly discovered that there were like-minded people everywhere in the world.  They did not always speak our language or shared our background. Still, these strangers helped us discover new sides of ourselves, sparked fresh ideas or reignited a well-forgotten passion. But most of all, traveling has been a deeply humbling endeavor for us.

Let the tales of locals and fellow travelers you meet on route share their stories and excite your sense of adventure. And, sometimes, change your trip itinerary all together…

Late in 2017, we went to the Southern Africa visiting 3 different countries on a single 6-week long self-organized trip. Cape Town served as an exotic and relaxing base camp for our explorations of the neighboring Namibia and Madagascar.

Living Pura Vida
Costa Rica

Next, we went on a 3000 km long road trip along the fringes of Western Europe. Western Coast of Ireland and the Outer Hebrides of Scotland were our home for over two weeks in late July-early August. When the winter set in New England, the verdant jungle and the promise of pura vida lured us back (our second trip) to Southern Costa Rica. Unlike our previous stay 5 years ago, this time around, we followed the Talamanca Mountains route all the way to the Osa Peninsula.
